RoboPin

Privacy Policy

Effective September 24, 2026

RoboPin is a Chrome extension that adds a download button to supported Pinterest image pages. This policy describes the data it uses to provide that feature.

Information RoboPin handles

On supported Pinterest pages, RoboPin reads image URLs, image labels, Pin links and nearby page controls to find eligible images and place download buttons. When you click a download button, it uses the selected image URL and, when available, its Pin ID to choose the file and filename. RoboPin does not build a list of pages you visit.

RoboPin stores your chosen button color and opacity in Chrome's synchronized extension storage. Chrome may sync these preferences according to your Chrome settings. No image content or browsing history is stored there.

Downloads and network requests

When you request a download, RoboPin checks image availability and file type through HTTPS requests to i.pinimg.com and asks Chrome to save the image to your Downloads/Pinterest folder. Those checks omit credentials. Pinterest's image server receives the requests needed to retrieve the image. RoboPin does not send image URLs, Pin IDs, page content or your preferences to a server operated by the RoboPin developer.

Sharing and retention

RoboPin has no developer-operated analytics, advertising or account service. It does not sell user data. Selected image information is used for the requested download; a short-lived in-memory lookup cache may be kept for approximately one minute. Button preferences remain in Chrome storage until you reset or remove them. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them.

RoboPin's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your choices

You can change or reset button preferences in RoboPin settings, delete downloaded images using your device's file manager, or uninstall the extension in Chrome.
